- iiiiffffllllSSSSGGGGIIII - SGI format image file
-
- DDDDEEEESSSSCCCCRRRRIIIIPPPPTTTTIIIIOOOONNNN
- This format is used to create and access image files stored in SGI's
- classic libimage format. This provides support for the large number of
- files that have already been created in this format on SGI machines. New
- files can be created in the more flexible, industry standard, TIFF format
- (see iflTIFF).
-
- SGI files support full color, color palette, and monochrome images of
- either one or two bytes per color component. Image data can be stored in
- either raw form or RLE encoded.
-
- The default extensions for image files in the SGI format are '.sgi',
- '.rgb', '.rgba', '.bw' and '.screen'. When you create a file with that
- extension IFL will assume you want the SGI format, unless you override it
- with the iflFormat parameter.
